Apple justifies the big failure in the presentation of the iPhone X

Apple CEO Tim Cook says Face ID facial technology that includes the new iPhone X works properly and why he did not recognize the face of the software developer responsible for that company, Craig Federighi, was the configuration of his security system, reports Yahoo Finance.

During the presentation of this new technology last September 12, Federighi tried to have the smartphone scan his face and, after two failed attempts, demanded that he enter the PIN code. That failure caused heated discussions in social networks, as many people assumed that the Face ID was not working properly.

Previous Apple devices with Touch ID technology that scan the fingerprint have a similar mechanism, which is activated after five errors in the process.

For its part, the new security system of the iPhone X is based on an infrared scanner that establishes a three-dimensional model of the user's face. According to Apple officials, the Face ID works in the dark and even when the owner wears a hat or cap.
