Inflation rose again in September

It stood at 5.75%, a monthly increase of 0.54%

Inflation in the last 12 months to September was 5.75%, the National Institute of Statistics reported Wednesday. This is a rise of 0.54% over the previous month. It is, in addition, the second consecutive increase that inflation registers so far this year. Last month, inflation was at 5.45%.

However, it continues within the official target defined by the Central Bank (BCU) of between 3% and 7%. This has been the case since March of this year, when it reached the target range (in particular, 6.71%), for the first time since the end of 2010. Since February - when the value in 12 months was 7.09% the inflationary pressures were giving way month by month. This trend was cut in August.

In September the division with the highest incidence was food and alcoholic beverages.
