London draws Uber back

Regulator Transport for London (TfL) said Uber's behavior posed public safety risks and would not renew its license when it expires on 30 September. Uber has 21 days to appeal and can continue to operate until the court process ends.

"Uber's approach and behavior demonstrate a lack of corporate responsibility in relation to a number of issues that have potential implications for public safety," said Transport for London (TfL). Uber, which accounts for one-third of private rental vehicles on the streets of London, said he would challenge the decision.

"Transport for London and the mayor have given in to a small number of people who want to restrict consumer choice," said Tom Elvidge, general manager of Uber in London.
