Global Entry simplifies customs process towards the United States

With a five-year validity, the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Global Entry certification simplifies customs clearance times for passengers who travel frequently to the nation American, says Braulio Laveaga, general director of American Chamber Guadalajara.

"The program consists of certifying travelers, especially the frequent ones, to avoid waiting time at customs and expedite the time of those who go on business, to spend in five minutes the customs zone."

Currently, in three years of implementing the program in Mexico, the American Chamber of Guadalajara has advised nearly two thousand people, among chamber members, officials and other actors, to achieve this certification.

"What we did in collaboration with the US Consulate is that instead of having to go, we brought the CBP agents for a week for a roll of interviews and invited some camera partners and some special consulate guests to do the interviews here in Guadalajara. We help them, we advise them, we have nothing to do with approval, but we can help you fill out the documents. "

Braulio Laveaga emphasizes that once the validity of the certification expires, the recertification process can be carried out to obtain once again the pass. The process begins with a valid passport and visa, then you have to apply online through the CBP website, make an electronic payment of $ 100 and wait for preauthorization, then schedule an appointment (in the United States) the process would be closed with the issuance of the certificate or rejection.
